The State of Ohio has given the go ahead for all sports to resume skills training workouts on May 26th. This includes contact sport athletes, as long as safety protocols can be followed.
This also allows schools to open their buildings for such training, which will be up to each school district. However, contact sports are still not allowed to conduct games, tournaments or competitions of any kind until further notice.
Lt. Governor Jon Husted says they worked closely with the Ohio High School Athletic Association in order to craft a plan that will allow athletes to begin physical conditioning, which will prevent sports injuries, if their seasons are allowed to be conducted this fall and winter.
Bowling, batting cages and miniature golf will also be permitted to reopen on May 26th.
