The Ross County Health District has reported a second COVID-19 related death.
The local health district issued the following release on Tuesday, May 26th:
Today the Ross County Health District reports the second death of a Ross County resident who tested positive for COVID-19.
The Health District offers our deepest sympathy and prayers to the family of this individual. With respect to the privacy of this individual and their family, the Health District will not be releasing any additional identifying information.
Also, out of respect to the family we urge you not to speculate on the identity of this individual and allow the family to grieve.
In order to help prevent further spread of this virus, the Ross County Health District asks that everyone support and follow the directives and recommendations of Governor Mike DeWine and Dr. Amy Acton, Ohio Department of Health Director. Social and physical distancing is essential to limit unnecessary exposures. Adhering to Quarantine and Isolation measures if exposed to a positive case or if you are experiencing symptoms is also essential. While challenging, limiting the community’s exposure to this disease will make a lasting impact on reducing deaths associated with the virus.
Ross County Health District is actively involved with our county partners to meet the needs of our residents as we respond to COVID-19 in Ross County. With the guidance of the Ohio Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) we will continue to update Ross County residents with new information as it becomes available.
