Ross Senior Fair Cancelled- Junior Fair Planning "Scaled Back" Event

The Ross County Fair Board has cancelled the 2020 "Senior Fair", due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the fairboard still plans to conduct a scaled back version of the junior fair livestock shows, but will review that decision next month as the state updates current restrictions.

The current decision means there will be no amusement rides, commercial buildings, grandstand events, home arts displays, open shows, concessions, or camping.

The press release states that the decision was made at their June 1st meeting. The press release from the Ross County Senior Fair Board can be seen below:

The Ross County Agricultural Society’s Senior and Junior Fair Boards have been working on the 2020 fair since the close of the 2019 fair. Then Coronavirus hit and changed life for everyone. We considered recent and continued strong recommendations to stay-at-home, and current recommendations for no more than gatherings of 10 and consulted with the Ross County Health Department. For the safety and well being of the Ross County community, the Senior Fair Board voted at the June 1 meeting to not hold a 2020 Senior Fair. Some cherished aspects encompassed in this decision include canceling rides, commercial buildings, grandstand events, home arts displays, open shows, concessions, or camping. We as a collective group had to make this hard decision. We share your disappointment.

Knowing that more information comes out every day, we are going to gather some financial estimates and draft some tentative plans so that we are prepared to make an informed decision regarding Jr. Fair livestock shows scheduled for August.

Sincerely

The Ross County Senior Fair Board
