2nd Half Ross County Property Tax Bills Are On The Way, Due July 10th

Ross County Treasurer Steve Neal, Jr. announced that the second half property tax bills have been mailed. Due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus, the Treasurer’s office is asking that tax payers do their part to keep both staff and the community safe and healthy by making their payments electronically, by mail, or one of the drop boxes the office offers. It is very important to make every effort to pay using an alternative method as opposed to walking into the office.

The preferred payment methods are conveniently listed on the blue insert included with your bill or on the Treasurer’s website at: www.rosscountyohio.gov/treasurer. If a taxpayer must visit the Treasurer’s office please follow social distancing rules and stay at least 6 feet apart. Please read and follow all signs and markings located in the office. It is also recommended that a mask be worn and hand sanitizer be used. Please have patience with the Treasurer’s staff as we all try to navigate this difficult and trying time.

2nd Half Real estate tax payments are due by Midnight Friday, July 10th. Taxpayers who receive a separate manufactured home statement should expect to receive their bill in about two weeks. Manufactured home tax payments are due July 31st.

There are many programs that the treasurer’s office offers to make it easier on taxpayers to pay their taxes. The insert included with the bill describes the programs and how to sign up for them. Information on the programs and how to sign up is also located on the treasurer’s website.

The treasurer’s office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except holidays. The office will also be open until 6:00 p.m. the final week of the real estate tax collection which starts July 6th and ends July 10th. The treasurer’s office is located in the Ross County Courthouse. There is also a night drop box available at the office as well as a drive up drop box located in the service center parking lot, 475 Western Ave. All payments deposited before midnight on the due date will be considered timely. E-check or credit card payments made through the treasurer’s website before midnight will also be on time.
