The Department of Veterans Affairs continues to bolster their efforts to modernize in order to give veterans the best care possible.
V.A. Deputy Secretary Pamela Powers says this effort, that has been underway since 2016, is now seeing the results. She says in 2016, surveys showed 65% of veterans were happy with their medical care, compared to 90% now.
Powers says along with modernization of electronic records and tele-medicine, patients and their families like the "veterans choice" program. This allows veterans the option of getting care in non-V.A. hospitals, when it is more practical.
Deputy Secretary Powers recently toured the Chillicothe V.A. Medical Center along with VA facilities in Columbus.
