(Cleveland) -- Scam artists are using the COVID-19 pandemic to prey on vulnerable Ohioans.
An elderly Glenville woman tells WOIO-TV a man claiming he was doing a coronavirus "wellness check" called and asked for personal information, including her Medicare number.
Health officials say that while the state is ramping up COVID-19 contact tracing, legitimate callers would never ask for your Medicare or social security numbers or request any financial information.
Anyone who may have been a victim is asked to contact police.
