Full-Contact Sport Workouts Can Start June 22nd

(24/7 Sports) -- Governor Mike DeWine says full-contact sports in the state of Ohio can resume holding workouts and practices next Monday. DeWine says it will be up to each organization to decide on the best time to proceed.

Low-contact sports were allowed to resume on May 26th, and the Ohio High School Athletic Association opened student-athlete workouts on June 1st. This allows football, volleyball and lacrosse, among other full-contact sports, to start scrimmaging during their team workouts. There is a prohibition against scrimmages involving other teams.

Ohio State and other major Ohio college programs are expected to resume practices around July 13th.
