A Chillicothe man has been arrested on charges that he threatened to kill a woman who survived by fleeing into some woods off State Route 327 in Vinton County.
The Vinton County Sheriff’s Office says the victim had a machete in a sheath on her side. Officers noticed what appeared to be blood on her shirt and evidence that she had been recently beaten.
After speaking with the victim and conducting an investigation, it was determined that a male individual, 43-year-old Christopher L. Detty of Chillicothe, allegedly threatened to kill the female with a knife and she ran into the woods.
Detty was arrested without incident and charged with Aggravated Menacing and Domestic Violence.
