Fundraiser Scheduled That Aims To Prevent Veterans Suicide

The local veterans support group, Dress Right Dress, will hold its 2nd annual Combat Veterans Suicide Dining Out event on Saturday, September 19th. It will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Chillicothe Country Club.

"Just like last year, the event will help fund our organizational programs, but with a little twist," said Dress Right Dress Founder, Jeremy Parkins. "Over the past year, we've worked on a collaborative regarding Presidential Order 13861, which focuses on veteran suicide. We've put together a six-member collaborative with organizations throughout the nation for that effort, and 25-percent of proceeds from this year's event will be put toward that collaborative."

Jeremy says tickets are on sale now for $50 each which provides a plated meal.

"You'll also be able to listen to some great speakers, and we'll be putting on a silent auction," said Parkins. "We have four packages available to bid on, one including an overnight stay at a Hocking Hills cabin with horse riding."

To obtain tickets to the Combat Veterans Dining Out, simply look up 2nd Combat Veterans Suicide Dining Out hosted by Dress Right Dress on the website Eventbrite. You can also find information on the group's social media pages or by phone at 740-656-2701.

After this year, due to the organization's expansion, the annual event will be held in a different community but will return to Chillicothe a few years down the road.
