Warriors Stay Unbeaten With 43-0 Win Over Mustangs

Westfall's first two possessions of the game resulted in drives deep into Adena territory, only to see both turned away by the Warriors defense, which seemed to spark Adena on their way to a 43-0 victory.

The first drive went 10 plays and ended with a Clay Wilt interception at the goal, with the second going to the Warriors 8, before ending on downs.

After a scoreless first quarter, it was all Warriors, as they would score 30 second quarter points for a 30-0 lead at halftime, then added a TD in each the third and fourth quarters as much of the second half was with a continuous clock.

Adena commanded the offensive line most of the night, generating 371 total yards, with 228 on the ground. Quarterback Preston Sykes was perfect in the air, throwing 10/10 for 143 yards. He also scored one TD and threw for three others.

Westfall was held to 28 rushing yards and 88 total yards.

The Warriors got on the board at 8-0 with 7:33 left in the second quarter with a 92 yard/10 play drive, capped-off by Sykes 7 yard run.

That went to 16-0 at 3:51 of the second quarter when Sykes connected with Tate Meyers TD strike on a 75 yard/5 play drive.

Sykes found Logan Bennett on a 30 yard TD pass at 1:42 of the second period, capping a 12 yard/3 play drive. Those two players found that combination again with 39 seconds left in the half on a five yard TD for a 30-0 halftime lead.

Nate Throckmorton added an 11 yard TD run midway in through the third quarter to finish a 77 yard/9 play drive.

Isaac Gray finished off the scoring with 9:40 left in the game on an 8 yard run, capping off a 56 yard/7 play drive.

Adena improves to (3-0) in in the SVC while Westfall drops to (2-1). The Warriors host (1-2) Piketon next Friday. The Redstreaks gained their first win with a 46-16 decision over Southeastern. Westfall hosts (0-3) Huntington.
