Ducky Derby Scheduled to Support Annual Feast of the Flowering Moon

The Feast of the Flowering Moon will be holding an inaugural Ducky Derby on October 25th. The Ducky Derby will take place at Yoctangee Park, but due to COVID-19, spectators are not encouraged to attend, but it will be broadcast live through the Feast of the Flowering Moon’s Facebook page. Each entry costs $10 with the top prize paying $500 to the winner. Entries will be randomly matched to a numbered duck and published to the Feast of the Flowering Moon’s website and Facebook page in advance of the race.

The top five ducks will receive prizes including $500 to first place, $250 for second place, $150 for third place, a $75 restaurant gift card for fourth, and $25 gas card for fifth place. This event will be limited to no more than 500 participants. Entry tickets can be purchased through the Feast of the Flowering Moon’s website at www.feastofthefloweringmoon.org, in-person at the Visitors Bureau at 230 N. Plaza Blvd., or by contacting any of the festival’s board members.

Due to the pandemic, the Feast of the Flowering Moon was cancelled in 2020. Fundraising efforts such as the Ducky Derby assist the non-profit organization with planning the 2021 festival. The Board of Directors of the festival are moving forward with plans to host the festival in 2021 over Memorial Day weekend in May.

Please visit the festival’s website for more information about the Ducky Derby and the annual festival.
