Adena Blanks Parkway in Round 2 Football Playoffs

The Adena Warriors dominated both side of the ball in a 37-0 Round 2 OHSAA Football Playoff win over Rockford Parkway, Saturday.

The Warriors had 358 total yards while holding Parkway's Panthers to 167, and 38 on the ground.

Adena rushed for 294 yards, with 162 coming from running back Nate Throckmorton, who also scored a TD. Preston Sykes ran for another 104 yards and a TD on 9 carries and connected on 5/6 passes for 64 yards and another TD to Logan Bennett.

Adena's success came despite committing 10 penalties for 110 yards. Parkway committed two turnovers, including a pick-six TD by Isaac Gray of Adena.

The Warriors will face the winner of Minster/Harrod Allen East, Saturday October 24th.

In other action involving SVC teams, Paint Valley pulled away in the second half for a 42-7 win over Greeneview, Unioto fell to Cincinnati McNicholas 27-0 and Piketon drops a 41-8 decision to Harvest Prep.
