(24/7 News Source) -- Despite most events being canceled due to the pandemic, the annual Circleville Pumpkin Show is declaring a weigh-off winner this year. On Wednesday morning, Dr. Robert Liggett continued his dominance in the competition, winning with a pumpkin weighing in at over 17-hundred pounds.
Dr. Liggett holds the record for the largest pumpkin ever at the festival with a monster weighing over 19-hundred pounds that he grew in 2014.
A tradition for over 100-years, the annual festival draws thousands of people to the city to celebrate pumpkins and the Fall season but was scaled back greatly this year due to COVID-19.
