Woman Charged With Drug Trafficking/Possession & Child Endangering

Pickaway County Sheriff Robert B. Radcliff reports they were called Monday afternoon to 16302 Florence Chapel Pike on report of a woman passed out inside their vehicle, along with two juvenile children.

When Deputies arrived on scene and after she gave a false name, they were able to identify her as 37-year-old Glenna M. Darby-Klein out of West Portsmouth. Glenna Darby-Klein refused treatment from the medics and refused to be transported.

Pickaway County Children Services responded to the scene as well to assist with the juvenile children. Due to the cold weather one of the juvenile children asked for her coat, Cpl Harger went to the vehicle and got the coat for the juvenile out of the back seat. Under the coat in plain view Cpl Harger located a plastic container with well over 1 ounce of suspected methamphetamine inside.

When Glenna Darby-Klein was patted down Deputies located over $800 cash on her person. Glenna Darby-Klein told Deputies she thought she was somewhere between Lancaster and Buckeye Lake.

The two juvenile children were taken to the Pickaway County Job and Family Services Office where they were later picked up by the Scioto County Children Services.

Glenna Darby-Klein was transported to the Pickaway County Jail where she was charged with Trafficking in Drugs a Felony of the 2nd Degree, Possession of Drugs a Felony of the 2nd Degree, Endangering Children a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree and Obstruction of Justice a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree.

Sheriff Radcliff would like to thank his Deputies, the Medics from Harrison Township and the Pickaway County Children Services all for their quick response and how they handed the situation.
