Pickaway Elections Board Certify Hafey Win Over Radcliff For Sheriff

For the first time in decades, Pickaway County will have a sheriff with a name different than Radcliff.

The Pickaway County Board of Elections has certified that retired Circleville Police sergeant Matthew Hafey has unseated incumbent sheriff Robert Radcliff by 331 votes. The margin was 262 votes on election night, but Hafey gained the wider final margin of victory after provisional and outstanding absentee ballots were counted.

Three generations of the Radcliff family served as Pickaway County Sheriff between 1931 and the present. Charles Radcliff served between 1931-1960, Dwight Radcliff from 1965-2012 and Robert Radcliff between 2013 and when he will leave office at the end of 2020.
