Flight Attendants Deal with Masking in Holiday Air Travel

Millions of holiday travelers are taking to the air this weekend. Despite all the warnings from health officials, the nation's airports are busy today with people heading to their holiday destinations.

Paul Hartshorn, with the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, says those who work on the planes have the unenviable task of making sure all those passengers are wearing masks. He says says it's no fun being the mask-police when flyers are already stressed out.

He says mask wearing has become politicized. On top of getting people to wear their masks, there is also the challenge of diffusing fights over face coverings.

Hartshorn adds flying today is safe, if everybody wears a mask and follows the rules.
