Big Second Half Propels ZT Over Westfall

Trailing 19-15 at halftime, the Pioneers of Zane Trace scored as many points in the third quarter as they had in the first half as they went on to a 45-29 win at Westfall.

Both teams combined for 21 turnovers in the first half (ZT had 11), but the Pioneers cleaned up that part of their game by limiting those to only 4 in the second half.

Both Nalin Robinson and Kyle Stonerock had early foul trouble and had limited time early, but Robinson turned it on in the second half by scoring 20 of his game-high 24 points. Ben Nichols and Trey Miller each added 8 points.

The Mustangs, who shot only 26% for the game, were led by Blaec Bugher's 11 points. The Mustangs were 7/11 at the foul line.

Zane Trace shot 22/45 for 49%- including 5/13 from the arc, but were only 1/4 at the foul line.

The Pioneers won the battle of the glass with 29 rebounds, compared to 22 for Westfall.

ZT improves to (3-0/4-2) and will host SVC co-leader Unioto on Saturday night. Westfall drops to (0-3/0-4).
