Atlanta Farms Solar Project Gets OK

A new solar-powered electric generating facility will soon be constructed in southwest Pickaway County.

The Ohio Power Siting Board on Tuesday approved the Atlanta Farms Solar Project. The facility will occupy 1,375 acres across a 2,276-acre project site located in Deer Creek and Perry Townships, near the Village of Williamsport. The facility will offer a maximum generating capacity of 199.6 megawatts.

The solar farm will incorporate four substations that will connect by overhead transmission lines to Dayton Power and Light’s Atlanta Substation, which is adjacent to the project area.

The project will include associated support facilities, such as access roads, meteorological stations, electrical collection lines, and inverters.
