Ross County Dog Owners Provided More Time to Purchase Tags Without Penalty

Ross County Auditor Thomas M. Spetnagel Jr. has announced that the deadline for purchasing 2021 dog licenses without penalty has been extended from January 31st to June 30th.

Dog licenses will be available at the following locations through February 15th.

  • Garman Feed & Supply in South Salem
  • Frankfort Hardware in Frankfort
  • Central Center Hardware in Chillicothe
  • North Fork Animal Clinic on Anderson Station Road
  • Paint Valley Hardware & Supply in Bainbridge

Dog tags are also available year round at the Ross County Auditor’s Office and at the Dog Warden/Ross County Humane Society on Lick Run Road.

Tom Spetnagel Jr. stated that licenses can also be obtained through the mail by sending a description of the dog including age, sex, color and breed, along with a check and a self-addressed stamped envelope to:

Applications can also be downloaded from the County Auditor website at www.co.ross.oh.us/auditor.

Through February 15th, the registration fee is $10.00 for each dog license and $50.00 for a kennel license.

Dog tags can also be purchased with a credit card through an online service linked to the County Auditor’s website for an additional $2.00 per tag transaction fee.
