Chillicothe Lady Cavs Fall to FAC Co-Leading McClain, 53-37

The Lady Tigers of McClain showed their experience and balance Wednesday, picking up their 13th win of the season, 53-37 over Chillicothe.

McClain, starting 4 seniors, gradually built their lead to 10 at half to 21 in the fourth period before the Cavs brought it back a bit in the final minutes.

Chillicothe was a respectable 16 of 39 for 41% from the field. The Lady Cavs were 0-7 from the three point line and committed 15 turnovers, 10 in the first half which accounted for scoring only four points in the second quarter.

The Lady Tigers shot 49% and nailed 6 of 12 threes on the evening. McClain had great balance with Brianna Weller scoring 13, Kyla Burchett added 10, and Payton Pryor notched 9. Seven Lady Tigers scored as McClain remains on top of the FAC (with Miami Trace) with a 7-1 mark.

Chillicothe continues to improve and were led for the second game in a row by sophomore Avery Erslan with 15 points. Emma Barnes played strong inside and added 8.

Jacey Harding scored 6 and Paige Huggins and Emma Fromm added 4 each for Chillicothe. The Lady Cavs fall to 2-9 and 0-7 in FAC play.
