Ross County Residents Receiving Fraudulent Tax Forms

The Ross County Sheriff's Office is putting out a warning to residents in regard to yet another scam making its rounds in the community.

Sheriff George Lavender via social media says his office has been getting numerous reports of Ross County residents receiving fraudulent 1099G tax forms from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The Sheriff says this is a scam that is occurring statewide.

In the post, Lavender included an information sheet with instructions on what to do if you should receive one of these fraudulent 1099G's in the mail. That information can be found on the Ross County Sheriff facebook page.
