Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools Superintendent Steve Barrett confirmed yesterday that Lincoln High School student Feixiang Friend and Middle School East student Joshua Friend died in the accident. The crash happened on the on-ramp from Dublin Road to I-670 East when the truck hit a patch of ice, broke through a barrier, and became submerged upside down in the river.

An adult, identified as 65-year-old Todd Friend, and another teen passenger survived and are in the hospital.
