Logan Bennett and Jarrett Garrison led the offensive barrage as Adena shot 60% from the field in a 75-52 Division 3 Sectional Championship win over Meigs, Friday in Frankfort.
The (22-2) Warriors saw Bennett lead the way with 25 points and 7 rebounds- including three dunks, while Garrison added 23 points and 6 boards. Preston Sykes was the third Warrior in double digits, scoring 13 points, while Dillon McDonald had 9 points with Jacob Shipley and Nate Throckmorton combined for 5 points.
Adena trailed only once, at 7-6, but led at the end of each stop- 25-13, 40-28, 63-43 and 75-52.
The two-shade blue shot 32/53 for 60%- including 7/14 from the arc and 5/6 at the foul line. They grabbed 24 rebounds and committed 7 turnovers.
Meigs shot 23/43 for 53% in the loss- including 1/11 from the arc and 5/8 from the charity stripe. They committed 16 turnovers and had 18 rebounds.
The Marauders had three men in double figures with Coulter Cleland leading the way with 18 points. Andrew Dodson added 12 and 10 from Wyatt Hoover.
Adena improves to (22-2) and will host South Point on Tuesday, March 2nd in the district semis on WKKJ, with airtime at 6:45pm. The Pointers beat Coal Grove 53-47 for their sectional title.
Meigs falls to (5-9), with Coach Jeremy Hill telling WKKJ they have 6 regular season games they intend to make up.
Piketon is the only other SVC Boys Division 3 team remaining in the post season, as they are sectional champs with a 62-53 win over Chesapeake.
Zane Trace fell to Wheelersburg 70-32.
Paint Valley plays at Trimble for the Division 4 sectional championship on Saturday, with WKKJ airtime 6:45pm.
