Two Charged Following Investigation Into Recent Hillsboro Burglary

Two people have been charged as the result of an investigation into a recent burglary that took place at a residence on Muntz Street.

According to a report from the Hillsboro Police Department, on Monday March 15, at approximately 9:26 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a report of a burglary in the three-hundred block of Muntz Street in Hillsboro. Numerous items of value were stolen including two safes and multiple firearms.

During the course of the investigation, officers were led to the residences of two juveniles on March 17th. The juveniles were interviewed and confessed to their involvement with the burglary that occurred on Muntz Street and provided useful information to law enforcement that only the parties involved would have knowledge of. During the course of further investigation officers with the Hillsboro Police Department went to a residence in Peebles, Ohio where 23-year-old Tyler A Grisham and 19-year-old Hailey J. Parks were interviewed and confessed to, along with both juveniles, burglarizing the home on Muntz Street.

Items from the burglary were recovered along with one of the safes. The location of the other stolen safe was obtained and with the assistance of the Highland County Sheriff's Department, was recovered at a residence on St. Rt. 247 south of Hillsboro. While interviewing the suspects involved it was learned they had also burglarized a residence on Carmel Road on February 19, 2021 where a Smith & Wesson handgun and other items of value were taken. Information was gained as to the location of the stolen Smith & Wesson firearm in Peebles, Ohio. Along with deputies from Adams County Sheriff's Department and the Peebles Chief of Police, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in Peebles, Ohio.

During the search, a large amount of marijuana was discovered at the residence along with items used for the preparation and sale of, and an unspecified amount of cash. The stolen Smith & Wesson handgun was also located and turned over to the Highland County Sheriff's Department. Multiple firearms have been recovered and the investigation is still ongoing.

Tyler A. Grisham and Hailey J. Parks were both arrested and transported to the Highland County Justice Center with Grisham presently charged with F2 Burglary and Parks with F2 Complicity. Further charges are pending. Both juveniles were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Chillicothe, Ohio and recommendations for charges have been forwarded to Highland County Juvenile Court.
