A voluntary recall on all of its ice cream and sherbet products made after March 24th has been issued by The Velvet Ice Cream Company, based in Utica. The company said yesterday the recall is over concerns about possible listeria contamination, which can lead to symptoms including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. Velvet says there have been no reports of illness so far, and the possible tainted products were shipped to stores in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Anyone who has one of these products should throw it away immediately or return it to the point of purchase.
