One person was taken to hospital Sunday as the result of a shooting in Chillicothe.
According to Chillicothe Police, officers were called to the area of Second and North Sugar streets shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday on a report of a fight involving a gun. At the scene they found a male subject with a gunshot wound to his neck area. The victim was taken to Adena Regional in Chillicothe but was later transported to Grant Medical in Columbus with non-life threatening injuries.
The person shot during the incident was not identified in the department’s release and there was no mention of a suspect.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information that may help investigators is encouraged to contact The Chillicothe Police Department, or make an anonymous tip through Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers.
