Greenfield City update

Thanks to a grant from the Ohio Department of Transportation, a much discussed pedestrian bridge over a creek is coming to Greenfield. The construction will make it easier to access areas in and around the public library branch and as a nearby apartment complex. Currently, the only way to get across the creek is to go across a narrow vehicle bridge. The grant is for almost $300,000, and will allow for the bridge construction, and new sidewalks to connect walkways that are already in place. In other business, Greenfield City officials dealt with an issue some citizens were having with paying their water bills. The problem reportedly arose as the village set out recently to shut off water at residences where the bill had not been paid. However, it was discovered at multiple properties that people had indeed paid, but had gone through a payment site not affiliated with the village and the village had not received the payment. Anyone who wants to pay their water and sewer bill online should go to the village’s website at greenfieldohio.net.
