Sports betting in Ohio

Ohio lawmakers are again pushing to keep up with new laws in neighboring states by legalizing sports gambling in the Buckeye State. On Thursday, a group of bipartisan legislators introduced Senate Bill 176, which would legalize and regulate sports betting at casinos, sports-books, and Ohio Lottery-based sports betting. Almost all of Ohio's neighbors have some legal sports betting, with only Kentucky outlawing the practice. Since 2019, two previous sports gambling bills were defeated due to disagreements over which state agency would regulate the betting.
