Following an almost universal backlash over a rebranding from the team's supporters last week.....The Columbus Crew name is returning. On Monday, team investor-operators met with club supporter organization, the Nordecke [[ NOR-deck ]], to discuss the future of the Black and Gold's branding. Following the meeting, the club announced that Crew would remain the official team name, SC is being dropped, and 96 is being added to the newly rebranded crest. Owners Dee Haslam, Dr. Pete Edwards, and Nordecke communications director Jeff Barger released statements praising the decision to keep the Crew name.
