Two people are dead and two were injured after a crash Thursday evening in Rainsboro in Highland County. The Ohio Highway Patrol says a GMC Yukon driven by 78-year-old Elmer Everhart of Chillicothe went off the road heading eastbound on US 50 at West Street in Rainsboro, striking a tree and then bursting into flames. One other person was killed in the accident, and two other people in the vehicle were injured. The name of the other victim nor the passengers has been released as of yet. The roadway was shut down for several hours following the crash. The investigation into the crash is continuing.
