For the second year in a row, the largest fireworks display in the Midwest, "Red, White, and Boom" is being canceled, but for a different reason. The Board of the Trustees for the non-profit group that organizes the annual event said yesterday they would not be able to obtain the proper permits in time to hold the event as planned on July 2nd. Last year's fireworks were canceled because of the coronavirus. The event's organizers say they are working on a possible alternative date in late summer or early fall for the fireworks.
