New Leader of Big Brothers / Big Sisters of South Central Ohio

The new leader of the local mentoring network spent her first few hours in a meet and greet.

Erin Allsop is the new president and CEO of Big Brothers / Big Sisters of South Central Ohio. The organization matches kids who need positive role modeling with adults for one-on-one outings and activities.

After returning from missionary work with college students in Spain, Allsop says she's ready for the role, with 13 years in education - as well as fund raising for the missionary work and overall mentoring with children. A native of Bainbridge, she says being a stay-at-home mom with a cake business is also part of her experience.

Allsop says the current 24 matches between their "bigs" and "littles" aren't enough. They have 84 kids on a waiting list in their region, and plan to work hard on recruiting "bigs."

Big Brothers / Big Sisters of South Central Ohio serves Ross, Pickaway, Pike Fayette, and Highland counties. Learn more on their website and Facebook page.
