As Severe Weather season starts to be a part of the warmer weather, residents in Fayette County can feel a little more secure when storm warnings are issued. All 17 of the county's Tornado Sirens are operational, reports the Fayette County EMA. Tornado sirens are not meant to alert those already indoors, but are designed to warn those who are outdoors to head inside or seek shelter. County EMA officials remind people to purchase a weather radio, or listen to local radio, to stay up to the minute on weather warnings.
