A rather loud "boom" in the area shook some people up earlier today. The sound rattled a few windows in downtown Chillicothe. There were reports by the public that the noise was caused by some sort of an explosion, but both the Ross County Sheriffs Office and the Ross County EMA tell us the noise seems to have been the result of a "sonic boom", usually caused by an aircraft. The loud bang happened right around 10:00 this morning.
