More officers laid off

Four more employees of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction was placed on paid leave, as the investigation into the death of an inmate continues. In February, 55-year-old Michael McDaniel died as a result of what's termed an "altercation" with staff at the Corrections Reception Center in Pickaway County. The Franklin County Coroner termed McDaniel's death a "homicide", caused by "stress induced sudden cardiac death". Guards were in the process of trying to remove McDaniel from his cell when the incident occurred. Three other officers were earlier placed on leave as part of the probe.
