Chase lands man in jail

After leading authorities on a chase, a Washington Court House man has been charged. 37-year-old Rusty Penwell of Green Street was stopped last Friday by Washington Police on a traffic stop on Millikan Avenue. Police had identified Penwell as a wanted felon and initiated the stop. Penwell then fled in his vehicle, and following a short chase that ended when Penwell drove into a ditch on Palmer Road near Old U-S 35. During the chase, Penwell purposely struck a police car. No one was injured in the chase, and Penwell was taken into custody. He's been charged with two counts of felonious assault on an officer, third-degree felony failure to comply, an Adult Parole Authority warrant, license forfeiture, and a window tint violation.
