Corrections officer arrested

An employee of the Scioto County Sheriffs Department is behind bars. Sheriff David Thouroughman says in a release that an investigation into drugs and tobacco being brought into the detention facility has resulted in the arrest of correctional officer John C. Aeh, of Wheelersburg. During this investigation, detectives were able to determine that Aeh did conspire with several inmates, their family members and friends to bring tobacco and drugs into the facility. Aeh did receive cash payments, which were made using a cash app. Aeh is scheduled to appear today in Portsmouth Municipal Court. He has been charged with 1 count of conspiracy, a felony of the 4th degree, 1 count of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the 3rd degree and conveyance into a detention center, a felony of the 3rd degree.
