Scioto County authorities have a Franklin Furnace man in custody, that after a standoff that last nearly seven hours Wednesday evening. Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman says his department received a 9-1-1 call from a resident Wednesday that the man, identified as Michael Brown, was outside a residence, and was armed. Upon law enforcement's arrival, Brown barricaded himself inside a bedroom at a Hyland Avenue address. Brown did fire off a weapon, but it has not been determined if the shots came with deputies on scene. Brown was eventually taken into custody, and was found to be in possession of multiple firearms. He was also reported to have been drunk, and to have used meth and marijuana. The incident stemmed from a reported domestic issue.
