DeWine Expects To Update School Guidance Monday

Governor Mike DeWine is expected to update Ohio's COVID-19 back-to-school guidelines early next week. In an interview with WBNS-TV, DeWine said the new details would "probably" be released on Monday.

The governor has yet to say whether he is in favor of requiring mask mandates in the state's schools.

On Thursday, Columbus City Schools announced that masks will be required for all students and staff returning to class in the fall.

In the latest COVID-19 numbers in Ohio, an additional 802 cases have been reported since Thursday. Eighteen new coronavirus-related fatalities were added to the death toll today.

Nearly 49 percent of eligible Ohioans have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
