Pat Beard Tapped to Replace Eric Huffer as Cavs Boys Basketball Coach

The Chillicothe City School District Board of Education has unanimously approved the hiring of Pat Beard as its new Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Beard's hiring was approved at Monday's special meeting of the Chillicothe Schools Board of Education.

Beard replaces Eric Huffer who led the team for the past eight seasons.

“We’re incredibly excited to have Pat Beard back at Chillicothe High School. Between his drive and experience combined with the knowledge he has of the program we’re sure that he is the best person for this position, states Chillicothe High School Athletic Director Knute Bonner, “between his experience with not just the 4 years he had as our Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, but also the years he spent with our Boys Program as an assistant, I feel that he has both the feel for our program and the drive to get our program in a position to compete at the Division 1 level.”

Beard previously coach the Lady Cavs Basketball Program for four years, leading the program to a District Championship. Beard also served as an assistant coach to former head coaches Eric Huffer and Gary Kellough. Most recently, Beard served as the Assistant Varsity Coach at Zane Trace.
