An Ohio man has been sentenced in Jackson County to life in prison without the possibility of parole in regard to the rape of a child.
Jason Rowland, 38, has been sentenced in the Jackson County Court of Common Pleas for the 2012 sexual assault of a 4-year-old child.
Rowland was convicted on August 20th on a single first-degree felony count of rape of a victim under the age of 10, and a single third-degree felony count of gross sexual imposition.
Authorities say Rowland fled to the west coast following the incident. He was located in Seattle, Washington during an investigation conducted by the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation with help from Seattle Police. He was subsequently extradited back to Ohio to answer from his crimes.
