The Vinton County Pilots & Boosters Association will celebrate 50 years of holding its local air show in late September.
The 50th annual Vinton County Air Show will take place on Sunday, September 26th at the Vinton County Airport, featuring some of the best acrobatic planes and pilots from across the state.
This year’s show will also see the return of radio-controlled planes, as well as a newly added demonstration of model rockets. The Screaming Chicken Sky Diving Team will open and close the air show, and Santa is also rumored to drop in, literally, for a kids Candy Drop.
The air show begins at 1:00 p.m. that Sunday and is free to attend, however a donation of $10 is requested for parking. That money is used to help fund the airport.
