National Constitution Week begins this Friday, September 17th in commemoration of America’s most important document.
The national observation emphasizes citizens’ responsibilities in protecting and defending the Constitution as the basis for our way of life. It’s also meant to encourage study of the historical events that led to the Constitution’s framing.
Locally, students and staff at Chillicothe’s Bishop Flaget will be celebrating the observation of the Constitution by ringing hand-held bells. They’ll gather at 4:00 p.m. this Friday, September 17th at Bishop Flaget. They’ll be joined by members of the Nathaniel Massie Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Around town, at the local library branches and public buildings, folks will find posters on the commemoration of Constitution Week, provided by the Nathaniel Massie Chapter.
The Chapter is encouraging community members to join the students of Bishop Flaget this Friday in ringing a bell at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate the Constitution.
National Constitution Week runs through Thursday, September 23rd.
