A two-vehicle crash in Fairfield County claimed the lives of two Amanda residents, last week.
According to the State Patrol, the crash took place at the intersection of Fosnaugh School Road and Wyandotte Road shortly before 1:00 p.m. this past Friday, October 8th.
The Patrol says Brandon J. Conkel, 33, of Stoutsville, was traveling westbound on Wyandotte in a 2021 Chevy Silverado when he failed to yield right-of-way at a stop sign and collided with a northbound 2014 Toyota Camry operated by Alan D. Smith, 46, of Amanda.
Smith and his passenger, Heidi D. Collins, 47, of Amanda, were ejected from the vehicle and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A juvenile passenger in a child safety seat inside the Toyota was transported from the scene to Children’s Hospital in Columbus by Air Evac with non-life-threatening injuries.
Brandon Conkel also sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to Grant Hospital in Columbus.
