High School Football Playoffs

As the 2021 OHSAA football season wraps up tonight, a number of area teams have chances to advance to the expanded playoff field when the post-season opens next week. For the first time, the top sixteen teams in each of the state's twenty-eight regions will qualify for the playoffs, up from the top eight per region in the last full season of games in 2019. Zane Trace controls their own destiny, a win tonight and the Pioneers will make the post-season. Huntington would qualify, if the Huntsmen can upset unbeaten Piketon. Chillicothe would advance to the post-season, if the Cavs can pull off a win at Jackson. Washington Court House can qualify with a win at Miami Trace, the Panthers sew up a berth by winning that rivalry game. Tonight on 94-Country-WKKJ, Piketon visits Huntington, while 1490 WBEX will have coverage of the Chillicothe game at Jackson.
