Chillicothe-Ross Library Announces Opening of New Kingston Branch

The Chillicothe-Ross County Public Library has announced that its new Kingston branch location is now open to patrons.

The new branch remains in downtown Kingston at 31 N. Main Street. It's a small building purchased by the library system that had originally been constructed for the old school, according to library Director James Hill. The new branch represents a nearly $1-million investment by the library system.

The new Kingston branch location comes with a large outdoor space which will eventually offer tables, benches, and a green space. Those features though won’t come until early next year when the landscaping work has been completed.

The Kingston branch library had been located in Kingston’s downtown Ellis Building since 1957, but the library over the years outgrew the space.

The new Kingston branch library officially opened on Wednesday, November 10th, but a grand opening ceremony is being planned for next year once the landscaping is complete.
