ODNR Officer Posthumously Awarded Director's Award of Valor

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources this week is honoring the life of an officer who died while trying to rescue a couple of teenagers.

Officer Jason Lagore has been posthumously awarded the Director's Award of Valor for his efforts in trying to save two teens who had fallen through the ice at Rocky Fork State Park in Hillsboro this past February.

Lagore suffered a medical event during the attempt and later died. The oldest of the two teenagers, Keaira Scott, 16, died as a result of the incident. Her 13-year-old brother was able to get himself out of the water.
