Annual Geminids Meteor Shower to be Visible Starting Tonight

We'll have an opportunity to view the annual Geminids Meteor Shower starting tonight.

Astronomers at Perkins Observatory in Delaware, Ohio say the shower will start in the constellation Gemini around 9 p.m., and the best time to view it will be around 3 a.m. after the moon sets.

The Geminids Meteor Shower originates from the asteroid 3200 Phaethon, making it one of only two showers not originating from a comet.

Scientists say there should be an estimated 50 to 60 meteors every hour.
