Two people were transported to Grant Medical Center in Columbus via Helicopter Monday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on US 50 in Ross County. 18-year-old Elijah Hitchcock failed to yield as he entered the roadway from a private drive in Hyundai Accent, his vehicle colliding with a pick-up truck driven by 48-year-old Jason Drake from Londonderry. The impact of the crash pushed Hitchcock's vehicle into a nearby ditch. Both Hitchcock and his passenger, 20-year-old Gabrielle Hitchcock, both from Tuscarawas, had to be extricated from the car .Both Hitchcocks were listed in serious condition. The crash, which occured just west of mile marker 32 on US 50, remains under investigation.
