ODOT prepares for storm

With the first signifcant snowfall of the new year expected to start later today, the Ohio Department of Transportation has been busily getting roads across the state prepared. ODOT was preparing for the storm a day ahead of time, laying down brine on the state’s roadways. So far, the state has only used 3,000 tons of salt compared to this same time last year when more than 40,000 tons already had been used. Making their job tougher in preparing the roads is the fact that ODOT is facing a snow plow driver shortage. The number of drivers available is down 50%.
